my camera

Finally - an update on my new camera! After saving up for months, I finally got my birthday, anniversary, and Christmas gift in November (I needed it in time for our trip back east) - my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi. Despite my impatience and occasional whining to Jeff about having to save up for it, I'm so glad I did - hard work does pay off! The camera is amazing and I would definitely recommend it as a great starter DSLR. I also highly recommend B&H Photo - they are AWESOME to work with!

So, now that I had a new camera, I needed something to carry it in (besides the bag that came with it that just screams, "There is an expensive camera in here - steal me!"). This is the messenger bag I made so that I had something to tote both of my cameras in around Philly and DC. What do you think?

sweet camera and that bag is cuuuuuuuuuuuute! That is such a smart idea to make a bag for your camera. Maybe that's what I will do. Of course, I'm sure mine won't look that awesome. Good job!

Very nice! Of course the camra junkie in me wonders what lens(s) you have. Your DC at night photos were amazing. I love the bag, much better to tote around than a plain clunky camera bag.

I like the bag! So much better than trying to have it blend in with my purse/baby bag. Very good idea!! :)

That bag is ADORABLE! And sophisticated at the same time - you have such a knack for combining those two qualities in your creations! :-)

Really cute bag. I love the colors. As for camera, that is the exact one I'm saving up for. I completely understand feeling the need to complain about the wait but also feeling pride in saving up for something you really want. Congrats!

I love the bag, and Tom is dying for a camera like that.

Ooh love the camera! You are such a great photographer and I bet this helps even more!! Also, the bag is ADORABLE!!! Are you selling your creations? You should set up a little blog site like Natashia McLean to see your crafts. I'd totally buy some!

Adorable. Karla, you are so creative. Could you please just share part of that creativity with me? I never thought about the fact that a big camera bag screams expensive camera, but now that you mention it, it totally does.

I hope that you love your camera. I have a digital SLR and I love it. I don't know how we ever managed with little digital point and shoots. They take way to long to take the pictures.

As always, thank you all for the wonderful comments - they make me happy!

As for your question about my lenses, Melissa, I only have one - the basic 18-55mm that came with the camera. I can't take too much credit for the colors on the DC pics - the sky pretty much did that all on its own!

As for your question, Jen, I am not currently selling anything online, but I am hoping to be doing so in the next few weeks. I will definitely keep you posted. :)
