We're Hoping to Adopt!

Jeff and I are very excited to let you know that we are hoping to adopt! Some of you may have already known about this, as it's something that's been in the works for a while. We just recently had our profile published on the LDS Family Services website, so we figured it was time to announce it on our lovely blogs. You can view our profile by clicking here.

The journey that has brought us to where we are today has been a rollercoaster ride filled with lots of ups and downs. With challenges in life come great blessings from the Lord, and we have faith that adoption will be a miracle in our lives from Him. We are sincerly excited to adopt and have faith that this is the Lord's plan for us to bring children into our home.

As mentioned, we are going through LDS Family Services, which allows birth mothers to choose the couple their child will be placed with. As a result, we don't know how long it will be until a mother chooses to place with us. If you know of an individual who is considering placing their child for adoption, we would love for you to direct them to our profile and get in touch with us!

The greatest strength we have found in this journey is the peace and comfort that comes from the Atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We have faith that He is ever mindful of us and that His plan for us is greater than any plan we had for ourselves!

karla and jeff,
what an amazing decision you two have made. My sister and brother in law adopted about two years ago and it was the greatest blessing for not only their little family, but also for the extended family. YOu two will be such wonderful parents someday...they will be just as lucky to have you as you will be to have them!
HOpe it happens sooner than later, but then again it will happen when it happens. :-) love you Karla!

Oh Jeff and Karla, I am so excited for you! Adoption has a very special place in my heart. I know what it is like being an unprepared girl choosing a family for her precious baby to go to. You are both amazing people and your goodness is apparent in everything you do. Good luck!

You guys will make the best parents EVER! As you probably know, Claudy was adopted at the age of 12 and that has made ALL OF THE DIFFERENCE in his life. If it weren't for his good, LDS parents he would have never found the church, me...etc. You will be such a blessing in someones life for taking them into your home. Me and Claudy also plan on adopting. It is such a wonderful thing.

Thank you for sharing your story. It touched me deeply and I pray that any pain you feel and longing for children will be filled with a beautiful baby very soon. I will send anyone I know looking for adoptive parents your way.

We struggled for several years to get children to our family, too, and know how much of a "roller coaster" it can be :) I told Holly once that it doesn't matter if children get to your home by car or by bus (ie, what method), because the right ones will come regardless, and be your children. You have our prayers and wishes :)

just so you know there is a spelling error on your profile of the lds services....

You were such a strength to me when I was going through my struggle with losing our baby, and I admire your faith in the Lord. Good luck with all your ventures as you head down this exciting new road! We love you both!

Karla- I know everyone has said it a thousand times, but I know a child will be blessed to have you both as parents. You have been inspiring me since I met you, and can't help but hope that I can be a mother like you someday. I know that you and a birth mother will be the answer to each others prayers. much love!

Congratulations! I don't know if you remember us or not, from the good ol' BYU 98th ward in Provo (at least I think that was the ward we were in) but we are working on adopting right now too! It is such an amazing, trying, difficult, wonderful, blessed journey we are on! Good luck with everything!
