Like many of you, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the Olympics this year. I have especially enjoyed the swimming and gymnastics. And how about those Opening Ceremonies?! A-MAZ-ING! Go check out the pictures (including the one above) at this link I found on Jordan's blog - absolutely stunning!A few months ago, long before the Olympics, Jeff introduced me to this song, the welcome song for the Olympics. He found out about it in his Chinese 101 class last semester. The way he described it to me was "a thugged up version of 'Do Your Ears Hang Low?' " I know, sounds random, but you'll see why. Make sure you pay attention to the subtitles for the occasional phrases in English. We've been know to randomly sing, "We are young!" or talk about our "glory day" in our everyday lives. We seriously love this song!

My teacher said this group is very popular in mainland China and I think the rapper is from Taiwan.
Also, you may wonder why you never heard this song. Well, NBC cut clips out of the full opening ceremonies. So we only heard about 5 seconds of it in the background at the end of the ceremonies when a reporter interviewed Yao Ming.
I love the Olympics! I'm so sad its done.
I'm sad the olympics is over too. Last night Brian said, "is there anything good on TV, now that the olympics are over?" No :(

Hey Karla! I just had to write and let you know how much I miss you and love you! It sounds like Idaho is "treatin' ya right"- I'm so glad! Your job sounds really perfect for you and exciting at the same time.
Jason and I were hooked to the Olympics the entire two weeks. I knew every detail about everything happening...I basically could have been one of the reporters. I'm sure you can imagine Jason screaming as hi "favorites" took the gold...and his disapproving opinions for the ones that didn't. It was so much fun to watch.
