heirlooms

Lovely, vintge thread spools my mom gave me. They we given to her as a high school graduation gift from her aunt. She has used about half of them over the years and the rest have been handed down to me. I LOVE them! I almost can't stand use them - they are my own little, mini, family heirlooms.

I love the spools. What a cute picture. Don't use them. Thread is cheap. Keep these in a cute little box and get them out to show the little kids in your life. They'll know the spools are a treasure.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I love knowing who's reading!

How fun! I love the picture and how the colors all stand out. What a fun heirloom.

Also, thanks for linking to Angela's giveaway. :) I can't wait to wear my earrings! I owe you huge!

Love the picture, Karla. And I agree with Marty, don't use them. Besides, I learned in my sewing class that the older thread looses some of it's strenght and is more likely to break, so there is a good, practical reason to keep them as an heirloom.
